Don’t Forget!…

Can you imagine having no healthcare in your community? What if there were no doctors, no nurses, no medicine? That’s the way it was in the Haitian villages of Galette Chambon and Thoman until we arrived there several years ago.
Since that time, we have treated tens of thousands of patients. We’ve delivered over 500 babies. We’ve dispensed countless packets of medicine. Lives have been saved and lives have been changed.

Haitian Run

One of the best parts of our clinics is that they are run by Haitian doctors, nurses, pharmacy techs, and lab techs. Tony West, our nurse practitioner missionary in Galette Chambon, gives oversight to the clinic when he is in the country. Aside from Tony and our visiting mission teams, the Haitians run the clinics each and every day. That’s a huge step towards sustainability!

Funds to Operate

Of course, all of our clinics cost money to operate and the patients we treat are desperately poor. We can only ask them for a tiny amount when they come for a visit. The rest of the funds must be raised. Salaries must be paid and medicine must be provided.
Normally, our mission trip fees would cover much of the cost. Unfortunately, with no mission trip fees we have lost that source of revenue. That’s why our Food for Life virtual event this year with a goal of $103,000 will go largely towards paying for our clinics for an entire year. How exciting to know that all the costs for an entire year will be covered! The remainder of the funds raised will go towards our new After-School program in the Mississippi Delta.
Part of the event is the online auction. We have lots of great items you can purchase and you can know that your purchase will go towards helping with the clinics.

Final Thoughts

I am thrilled to report that through sponsorships and other donations we have already raised $66,581. Would you help us reach our goal of $103,000 and provide life and hope for starving children in Haiti?

Finally, may we never forget how God feels about the poor and the suffering. In Proverbs 14:31, He tells us, “Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” It’s my hope that we will honor God through showing kindness to some of the most vulnerable people in all the world in Haiti and help in one of the most underserved areas in the United States.

Can’t Wait To See What God Does Next,

Stan Buckley
