I continue to be amazed at what God is doing in Haiti through But God Ministries and those who partner with us. In countless ways, God and His people are making a huge and lasting difference in the villages of Galette Chambon and Thoman.

New Church Building

Thanks to the grace of God and the generosity of members of First Baptist Church Brandon, MS, the new church building in Thoman is almost complete! We are very excited about this new tool that will be used many times every week. In addition to the regular weekly worship services, the new building will be used for VBS, Bible studies, community meetings, Pastor’s conferences, expanded medical clinics, and many other ministry opportunities for years to come.
Only God knows at this time how many people will come to faith in Christ in this new building, how many people will grow in their Christian faith, how many times the Word will be proclaimed, and how many times God’s people will give Him praise.

Houses

We continue to build houses for families living in mud huts and other deplorable conditions.

Sponsorships

We couldn’t be more excited about the new child sponsorships in Galette Chambon and Thoman. We now have approximately 40 children sponsored in Galette Chambon and 200 in Thoman. When we began our full-time work in Thoman in January of this year, 75 children were being sponsored there. God has blessed beyond anything we thought possible with 125 new children being sponsored.

Click HERE to sponsor a child. You can choose a child from either Galette Chambon or Thoman. Sponsor a child from where you prefer, but please note that we are just beginning the sponsorships in Galette Chambon and it would be extremely helpful at this time for children to be sponsored from there. You can sign up to pay in one of three ways:

  1. Monthly online giving
  2. Automatic deduction from your checking account each month
  3. Send a check each month to BGM

If you choose to sponsor a child using our online giving, Simple Give, the cost will be $38.50 per month. The additional $1.50 is the cost we incur for using Simple Give.
Please note that some of the children may seem young, but the schools are for 3 year olds through 6th grade.

New Grades

We are very excited about our 7th and 8th grade school in Galette Chambon thanks to the generosity of Great Bridge Baptist Church in Cheapeake, VA. They have been partners with us from the very beginning and have played a huge role in our work in Haiti.
Last year, we added a 7th grade class, and this year we’ve added an 8th grade class. Our goal is to add a grade each year until we’ve reached the 12th grade and then these children can get a complete high school education. This is a really big deal!

Also, thanks to a wonderful family from Meridian, Miss., we started a 7th grade class in Thoman. This is very important so the children do not have to drop out of school with only a 6th grade education. God is blessing greatly!

Reading and Writing

One of our missionaries, Mickie West, has been teaching a Creole literacy class in our church building in Galette Chambon. These are people who cannot read or write in their own language. They have been so eager learn. Mickie recently wrote the following about the class:

“Today in Creole Literacy, my students were praising Jesus for providing books for them to read. They received two books each and left with homework in each one. They are so excited about reading and doing soooo well! I am so proud of them! THEY CAN READ!!! Hallelujah!”

Your Help

As you can see, God is using But God Ministries in marvelous ways. Also, as you are aware, it takes a great deal of resources to do what God has called us to do. Would you please consider financially supporting BGM and our work in Haiti? Your gift will go a long way in helping us share the love of Christ in very tangible ways in that poverty-stricken nation.

You can give online HERE or send a check to: But God Ministries, 400 Fontaine Place, Suite 103, Ridgeland, MS, 39157.

In addition, I ask for your prayers for wisdom and energy for our Haitian staff, our American staff in Haiti, and our Board of Directors.

Can’t Wait To See What God Does Next,
