I have exciting news to share! We are making great progress on the new Hope Center in Thoman. You may recall we are building our second Hope Center an hour’s drive into the mountains from our first Hope Center. Thoman is the village with approximately 6,000 residents, no electricity, no running water, no jobs, and little hope.

The new Hope Center in Thoman will allow us to share the love and message of Christ through the medical-dental clinic, building houses, digging wells, partnering with local churches and schools, creating jobs, and one-on-one sharing of the gospel, among other things.

Mike and Jann Kenney, Christian plumbers, are dear friends of BGM. They have been to Haiti with us countless times as they have plumbed every building at our current Hope Center in Galette Chambon. They spent the last two weeks installing the plumbing at the new Hope Center in Thoman. We love Mike and Jann and we thank God for their commitment to the Lord and His work around the world.

There are 4 levels at the new Hope Center. Level 1 – missionary house and dorms. Level 2 – dorms and apt. for interns or month-long missionaries. Level 3 – kitchen, laundry, dining. Level 4 – medical clinic, dental clinic, parking.

Much progress being made on the land that was cleared. Level 1 at top right, level 2 in center, level 3 on left.

A wonderful consequence of the construction of the new Hope Center is that Haitians get jobs. Wesley (l) and Junior (r) worked for two weeks helping Mike (center) and Jann Kenney with the plumbing.

The roof is being built on the missionary house within the Hope Center. We are so excited that Terry and Kathy Warren will be moving to Thoman in November to run the new Hope Center.

We hit water! God has blessed tremendously with a water well. This photo is of the drill rig as it was hitting water next to the new Hope Center in Thoman.

Blessings
Our goal was to raise $280,000 to build the new Hope Center in Thoman. I am excited to report that God’s people have given $271,000 towards that goal. We praise the Lord and thank those who have sacrificed to give towards something that will have a huge impact for thousands of people for years to come. Giving to the construction of the new Hope Center is truly an investment in the lives of desperately poor people. And, as the photos above demonstrate, when you give to the new Hope Center you can know your gift will be used to build it.

That Time of the Year
School will be starting in Haiti soon. As we do every year, we will be sponsoring children so they have the opportunity to go to school and learn to read and write, do math and science, and prepare themselves for a better future.

The last two years, tuition for an entire year was only $25. We have realized how small that amount is so we are increasing that amount this year so the schools we work with can better meet the needs of their students and teachers.

The cost for a child to attend school this year is as follows:
$50 – tuition for one year
$75 – tuition and uniform
$100 – tuition, uniform, books

If you want to make a life-long difference in the lives of some of the poorest people in the world, please consider sponsoring a child. You can give online HERE or send a check to: But God Ministries, 1440 North State Street, Jackson, MS, 39202.

Filling Up
Almost every week we have mission teams in Haiti doing a variety of ministry. In fact, most of our teams are multi-functional. Some members of a team work in the medical-dental clinic, some build a house, some do VBS and Bible studies, some work in the orphanage, some help with agriculture, among other things.

If you or your church are interested in a trip with us next year, please don’t wait too long to register. Already, we have 30 trips booked for next year. You can click HERE and choose a date.

Finally
It’s no secret that it requires a tremendous amount of resources to do all the ministry that is taking place through But God Ministries. If you want to use your resources to make a long-term difference in the Kingdom of God, we welcome your gift. You can give online HERE or send a check to: But God Ministries, 1440 North State Street, Jackson, MS, 39202. In addition, I ask for your prayers for wisdom and energy for our Haitian staff, our American staff in Haiti, and our Board of Directors.

Can’t Wait To See What God Does Next,

Stan Buckley
Executive Director
